Welcome to Trans-Formations: a BRILLIANT and DARK remix event

Ellen Southern’s call to remix her composition Of The Brilliant and The Dark was answered by a diverse range of emerging musicians and artists. New work by over 20 participants will be experienced tonight for the first time, creating an integrated one-night-arts-festival.

This artist-lead event promises to be an inspiring insight into a wide range of creative processes – we warmly invite you to enjoy the exciting contrasts and the subtle connecting threads of shared inspiration. So join us as we go…Through the listening glass…!

Of The Brilliant And The Dark is an exprimental song-cycle composed in response to an invitation by artists Eileen Simpson and Ben White to create a creative commons licensed manuscript and live performance remixing the original 1969 score The Brilliant and the Dark (a Womens Institute choir commission by Ursula Vaughan Williams & Malcolm Williamson) for a live project at the Women’s Library in 2010.
