This is a sound-sketch of work in progress towards a participatory live work at The Cube, Bristol, on 26th April 2015.
An interval in music is the distance between two pitches. In this work I am hoping to trick the voice into producing unexpected and potentially microtonal intervals.

About this clip:
The work uses the natural tendency of the unaccompanied voice to 'wander away' from an initial given pitch. In this clip I am using a process of 'taking a note for a walk': walking around the cinema singing one sustained pitch, to allow this to naturally happen.
I recorded this, and overlaid the pitch from the start and the end of the journey. This reveals that the pitch has subtly changed, and that an unspecified interval has been generated. I tried this first on an F sharp, then on a G. For the G i also applied the same process to sitting in different seats in the cinema, and allowed the pitch to alter that way.
