Trans-Formations live - a Brilliant and Dark remix album (2012),
released September 1, 2016
By Danny Bright and Tom Bush. The work combines twisted and woven melodies from the ‘Transition’ theme in the remix score, with new sonic textures and synthesised samples from out-takes of the Ensemble’s recording. The result is a trans-formation that draws material from both the centre and periphery of the Dark. It was performed using live electronics and reel-to-reel tape.
Danny Bright is a sound designer, composer, recordist and sonic manipulator working within the fields of theatre, performance, installation, music and media. He has variously lived, studied and worked in Sheffield, England; Burlington, Vermont, USA; and Brighton and Hove, England where he is currently based. His work has appeared nationally and internationally including at the World Soundscape Conference and in exhibitions at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Prague Quadrennial. Bright recorded Ellen Southern and Ensemble’s Of The Brilliant And The Dark in February 2011, which has since been released for digital download.
